Crain buys Mexican publications

Crain Communications, publisher of Advertising Age, announced the purchase of three business publications in Mexico, marking the company's first foray into Latin America. The weekly El Asesor de Mexico and bi-weekly El Asesor de Monterrey are regional business publications and the bi-monthly Internet Velocidad covers Mexico's Internet industry. Joe Cappo, Crain's senior VP-international, will be president of the company's Mexican titles, and Gerald Delaney will continue to be director of the publications and report to Mr. Cappo. Crain, a privately-held company currently publishes more than 30 business publications and operates more than two dozen Web sites and two radio stations located in the Florida Keys.
