Crain elevates Klein, Manee to VP posts

[detroit] Ad Age Group executives David Klein and Jill Manee were elected VPs of parent Crain Communications Inc. during the company's annual board meeting.

Mr. Klein, 45, is the Chicago-based publishing and editorial director of the Ad Age Group. He began his career in business publishing at Crain's Electronic Media, where he rose from news editor in 1984 to editor in 1992. He served as editor of CMP Media's Interactive Age and Information Week, and returned to Crain in 1996 as editor of Advertising Age.

Ms. Manee, 48, is the New York-based publisher of the Ad Age Group. She joined Crain in 1996 as advertising director of Ad Age. Before that, she spent 13 years at Lebhar Friedman, rising to publisher of Drug Store News.

The board also promoted several other Crain executives to VP positions, including: Anthony J. Merpi, 56, director of sales and marketing, Crain Automotive Group; Martin J. Ross III, 42, associate publisher, Business Insurance; and Marc White, 44, publisher of Electronic Media.
