(May 18, 2001) -- Credit Suisse First Boston Direct picked Havas Advertising's Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG, New York, as its ad agency, replacing Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners.

The online brokerage formerly known as DLJ Direct handled the review in-house.

Contenders included New York shops MDC Communications' Margeotes/Fertitta & Partners and Omnicom Group's TBWA/Chiat/Day. Billings had been estimated at $20 million. -- Mercedes Cardona
