Crowne Plaza splits

Holiday Inn Worldwide, Atlanta, will form a separate organization to position its upscale Crowne Plaza brand. Company Chairman-CEO Bryan Langton said Crowne Plaza's advertising will continue with Holiday Inn's current agency, Young & Rubicam, and that any future agency change for Crowne would be initiated by Holiday Inn's worldwide marketing director, John Sweetwood. He also said CP will double its number of properties by the year 2000 to more than 220.
