When the man many touted as the U.S.' most eligible bachelor decided to take a bride, magazine editors couldn't resist.

Newlyweds John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette were the Cover Story power couple for October, scoring a total of 9 points with eight covers, from tabloid coverage in the National Enquirer and Star to stories in People and Newsweek.

Other celebrities scoring in the top 10 for the month include: Oprah Winfrey, 7 points; Brooke Shields, 6; Madonna, 6; Julia Roberts, 4.5; President Clinton and Bob Dole, 4; and Elizabeth Hurley and Martha Stewart, 3.5 each.

And tying for 10th place, with 3 points apiece were: Jim Carrey, Billy Corgan, Jamie Lee Curtis, Claire Danes, Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert Downey Jr., Gloria Estefan, Teri Hatcher, Anthony Hopkins, Lena Horne, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Demi Moore, Princess Carolyn of Monaco, Rage Against the Machine, Antonio Sabato Jr., Johnathon Schaech, Elisabeth Shue, Kevin Spacey and Vanessa Williams.M
