Curley heads NAA

The Newspaper Association of America elected John J. Curley, president-CEO of Gannett Co., to a one-year term as chairman. He succeeds Uzal H. Martz Jr., president and publisher of the Pottsville Republican. David C. Cox, president-CEO of Cowles Media Co., Minneapolis, was elected NAA vice chairman. The association of 1,500 daily newspapers announced the moves at its annual convention in New York.
