TORONTO -- Cilento Wines Ltd. of Woodbridge, Ontario has signed on as sponsor of the Canadian Opera Company's Surtitles program. Surtitles is the projected, capsized translation of an opera displayed on stage between the bottom of the curtain and the orchestra pit. For the next three opera seasons, the Cilento logo will be featured on the first Surtitle at all main stage performances. Cilento and the Canadian Opera Company plan to launch other promotional programs but have not yet finalized details.
Cilento, which opened for business just last summer, currently sells its wines only through its own winery just north of Toronto. However, the company says they plan to expand the distribution network. Walsh & Associates Advertising Inc. of Toronto handles advertising for Cilento.
