D'Arcy/Detroit creates new unit

Published on .

D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles, Troy, Mich., created an Integrated Marketing Services group, combining its publications and collateral businesses into one unit. D'Arcy said those businesses are equal to a $70 million ad account. Along with non-auto accounts, the group will handle the General Motors Service Parts Organization account, added last summer to its existing GM Cadillac and Pontiac accounts. Senior VP-Account Director Art Pepin, 45, leads the team, which includes VP-Co-Creative Directors Tom Davidson and Rex Roy, both 37. Separately, Martin Macdonald, 41, is joining D'Arcy's Detroit area office as senior VP-executive creative director on Cadillac. The Scottish native had been VP-creative director at Bronnercom, London. He succeeds Jon Parkinson, 51, who left several months ago to join the Detroit office of J. Walter Thompson USA on the Ford Division account as senior creative director.
