DETROIT (AdAge.com) -- Two global marketers have stepped up to the plate to help in the wake of Tuesday's tragedy.

DaimlerChrysler, Stuttgart, Germany, and Auburn Hills, Mich., today said it is committing $10 million through its DaimlerChrysler Corporation Fund to support the children of victims of the terrorist attacks.

The automaker will accept additional donations from its staff, dealers and suppliers around the world who have expressed interest in offering some sort of support. The funds will be used for various kinds of help, including educational needs.

Separately, France's Michelin Group announced it is contributing $1 million to the American Red Cross Relief Fund. The tiremaker has opened the Michelin Relief Fund to all 128,000 of its global employees who wish to add to the fund.
