Nielsen Media Research, New York, said Dallas moves up to the No. 7 spot in its 1998-99 ranking of TV markets (by number of TV households), overtaking Washington, now No. 8, by just 3,500 HHs. Tampa, Fla., moves to No. 14 from No. 15 (overtaking Minneapolis-St. Paul). New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Boston remain No. 1 through No. 6. Rounding out the top 10 Nielsen markets are Detroit and Atlanta at No. 9 and No. 10, respectively Nielsen said 60% of U.S. TV households (59.8 million homes) for the 1998-99 TV season are located in its 40 metered markets.
