DDB aligns with new Hispanic agency

Published on .

DDB Needham, Dallas, will discontinue its three-year affiliation with Ornelas & Associates, Dallas, effective Jan. 1, for a new arrangement with start-up Hispanic shop Dieste & Partners, also Dallas. Principals are Tony Dieste, president, from partner and senior VP with Ornelas, and Warren Harmel, managing partner, from senior VP with Ornelas. While the new shop starts without clients, there's no word on what will become of Ornelas' three DDB Needham-affiliated clients, Mobil Corp., Pepsi and GTE. Ornelas was ranked as the nation's 10th-largest Hispanic ad agency, with $24.2 million in billings in 1994, according to Hispanic Business Magazine.
