DDB Cuts 22 From Chicago Office Staff

Shop Recently Lost Home Depot, Dell Accounts

CHICAGO (AdAge.com) -- DDB cut 22 positions from its Chicago office last week, a spokeswoman confirmed today.

Four percent of workforce
The cuts -- which represent about 4% of the Omnicom shop's Windy City workforce -- come in the wake of the agency losing direct marketing work for Home Depot as well as Dell Computer's consumer work earlier this year.

"We've had to better align our staff with our business needs at this time," the spokeswoman said.

DDB's Chicago office will attempt to reverse the business-losing trend tomorrow, when its executives make a pitch for H&R Block's $100 million account.
