DDB international opens the doors on DDB South Africa

Published on .

PARIS -- DDB International is merging its South African network partners to form DDB South Africa - an agency which ranks at No. 6 in the country with billings of $60m and lists McDonald's, the African National Congress (ANC) and Sony among its clients.

The agency will be based in two centres in Johannesburg and Cape Town and media will be bought through Eurospace, an Omnicom Group subsidiary. The new shop is created from The White House (with which DDB formed an association in 1992), AMC, which came on board earlier this year, and Bates South Africa, which joined the group in July.

Dave Kelly, previously CEO of Bates SA, will be chairman and Louis Gavin, formerly creative director of AMC DDB, will be group executive creative director.
