DDB SLASHES 37 JOBS IN CHICAGO

Lays Off Close to 5% of Workforce

CHICAGO (AdAge.com) -- Omnicom Group's DDB Worldwide today cut 37 staff members as it faced "economic realities," a spokeswoman said.

The spokeswoman said the job eliminations involved "all units and levels" of DDB's Chicago operations and represented less than 5% of the overall current workforce.

In separate cuts last February and June, DDB laid off 38 employees from the same office, citing at the time account losses and client budget cutbacks.

DDB now has about 725 employees in Chicago, down from 800 at its height a year ago.
