De Luca out at Apple

Published on .

Apple Computer today said Guerrino De Luca resigned as exec VP-marketing, just a day after Apple announced Steve Jobs had stepped in officially as interim CEO. Mr. De Luca, a veteran Apple executive who took over marketing in February, had been orchestrating a plan for global decentralization and multiple ad agencies. But that plan became moot late this summer after Mr. Jobs took control and hired TBWA Chiat/Day, Venice, Calif., and TBWA International to lead global advertising.
