'Outside' does deal with Away.com

Outside magazine (www.outsidemag.com) and Away.com, an online travel site, created an strategic partnership under which Away.com receives an exclusive license to use Outside's brand and editorial content; assumes back-end operation of the magazine's site, Outside Online, and receives promotion throughout Outside's network of media properties. In return, Outside's parent company Mariah Media, will take an equity stake in Away.com and Mariah's Chairman and Editor-in-Chief, Lawrence J. Burke, will join Away.com's board of directors. The two companies will also build a co-branded Web site mixing Outside and Away.com editorial content and e-commerce offerings.
