Deja News takes anti-spam measures

Published on .

In a fight against spam, Internet discussion group site Deja News introduced a spam filtered e-mail service April 29.

The free service is a component of My Deja News, a personalized service in which users can customize discussion groups and other content.

Spam is an issue for Deja News because direct marketers who send out unsolicited e-mails have been known to ``harvest'' names from online discussion groups, with software programs that comb the Web looking for e-mail addresses.
