Dell Computer Corp., Round Rock, Texas, cut its ties to J. Walter Thompson USA and moved the $100 million-plus account to BBDO
Worldwide, New York. Executives close to the agency said JWT
was informed of the change today. Ad Age reported this week that BBDO had exploited the troubled relationship between Dell and JWT, making overtures to the consumer marketer for months until it was allowed to show some work last week. JWT also presented some work last week that it hoped would shore up the account and keep the client from moving.
