Delta Air Lines, Atlanta, promoted Timothy Mapes, to managing director of Delta Express, a unit that offers flights between top Florida destinations and the Northeast and Midwest. Mr. Mapes previously was managing director-marketing, planning and communications. He becomes the second top-ranking marketing official at the airline to move to another post in the past month. Martin White, VP-consumer marketing, exited Delta to become senior VP-marketing at Vail Resorts. Mr. Mapes oversaw advertising, brand management, sponsorships such as Delta's affiliation with the 2002 Winter Olympics, and online marketing. Worldwide, before a 1990s review moved the account to Saatchi & Saatchi; Mr. White led a review to shift the account in 1999 to its current locale at Leo Burnett
