In Demand slates Jan. 1 launch of new interactive, digital TV network

Published on .

In Demand is the new pay-per-view TV network being launched Jan. 1, backed by a consortium of three companies in the Internet-digital TV industry. ACTV, a provider of interactive digital TV, and Liberty Digital, a new media company, are backing Viewer's Choice, a pay-per-view TV network that will become the cornerstone of In Demand, a new cable and satellite TV programming venture. The three companies have agreed to a long-term alliance to license and produce at least four marquee pay-per-view sports events and other programming of national significance annually, and to distribute them nationwide utilizing ACTV's patented Individualized Television software and Viewer's Choice programming and marketing capabilities. Viewer's Choice exclusively will distribute these events.
