Democrats hype Convention online

Published on .

With the Republican National Convention only days away and the Democrats' big meeting just steps behind, both sides are touting their Web sites and marketer support. The Democratic National Convention's Web site at http://www.dncc96.org not only links to the sites of all the convention marketing sponsors but also offers Shockwave animation of their corporate symbols.

Click on United Airlines and a plane flies over the page and drops balloons. Click on an AT&T logo and a rocket goes off sending fireworks through the site. Another room features animation of the Democrats Web page creator Traveler Information Services.

The Republicans, meanwhile, are touting live video feed from their convention. Working with AT&T, the party will offer live video of each podium speech via its site.
