Denny's taps new marketing chief

Published on .

Denny's Restaurants named Jonathan R. Jameson to VP-marketing, from VP-marketing, Host Marriott Corp. Denny's has overhauled its executive ranks and recently hired new agency Lowe & Partners/SMS, New York, to repair the chain's tattered image. Denny's still suffers from lingering charges of racial discrimination, begun two years ago when six secret service agents who were black accused Denny's of refusing them service. In recent weeks Denny's began a public relations and print advertising campaign to promote its efforts to combat racism and "treat all customers equally."
