Dentsu USA has repositioned its Los Angeles office for a prospective American car account, dropping its affiliation with Young & Rubicam and naming the new vice chairman of Dentsu USA, Don Effler, as chairman-CEO of the Los Angeles operation. Mr. Effler, formerly president and partner of Houston Effler agencies in Boston, New York and Los Angeles, will team with Pat Rogge, formerly LDP Los Angeles general manager, in Rogge Effler & Partners. It will take over LDP's 90 employees and clients, which include AST Computers, Countrywide Home Loans, American Suzuki-Motorcycles, Dole and Disney Interactive.
