Published on .

(June 11, 2001) -- Interpublic Group of Cos. Deutsch is closing its Boston office today due to softness in the advertising and dot-com markets, an agency spokeswoman said. The office is resigning its only client -- Homeruns.com, a grocery-delivery service. The spokeswoman said Deutsch will try to find employment for the office's nine people elsewhere within the Interpublic network which includes Boston's Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos and suburban Wenham's Mullen, or at Deutsch offices in New York or Los Angeles. Billings were estimated at $3 million. The office opened in July 2000. -- Hillary Chura
