DeVito exits Midas review

Published on .

DeVito/Verdi, New York, withdrew from the estimated $20 million to $25 million review of Midas International Corp., Chicago. A short statement from DeVito said it left the review "to properly serve increasing current business workloads." Although the agency didn't elaborate, it may have had a conflict with client CarMax. The used-car chain, owned by Circuit City Stores, Richmond, Va., also has new-car dealerships that compete with Midas for repair work. Still believed to be in the Midas pitch are Lowe & Partners/SMS, New York; and Euro RSCG Tatham and Cramer-Krasselt, both Chicago.
