Devon Direct '98 billings up 23%

Devon Direct Marketing & Advertising, Philadelphia, said 1998 billings reached $290.6 million, a 23% increase over the previous year, with gross income rising by 21% to $44.4 million. Chairman Ron Greene attributed the agency's 14th year of unbroken growth to increased business momentum involving technology-related assignments and expanded relationships with existing clients. Major account wins included U.K. cellular phone service leader Cellnet and Tel-Save, for which Devon Direct launched AOL Long Distance.
