Digital Planet sets online IPO

Web developer Digital Planet will use a Web site to offer shares on the public market. The offering, whose date hasn't yet been set, is being billed as the nation's first direct public offering of an established Internet company. Los Angeles-based Digital Planet will partner with Direct IPO to offer securities for sale through an offering circular, which investors will be able to read or download from Direct IPO's site.
