DIGITAS CUTS 130 EMPLOYEES

Published on .

(June 19, 2001) -- Digitas laid off 130 employees today, just two months after the Boston-based i-shop cut 65 employees. With the new cuts, a spokeswoman said, Digitas now employees 1,600 people. The latest cuts come one week after the company revised its second-quarter projections, saying they would be below prior expectations because of budget cuts, particularly among financial clients. The company expects to report revenue of $60 million to $63 million, as opposed to $70 million in the second quarter of 2000. -- Catharine P. Taylor
