Diller's Silver King deal may not tune in viewers

Barry Diller may have made a good deal to get into the TV station business with a $5 million investment in Silver King Communications, but getting people to watch the high-band UHF stations will be a tough proposition, Electronic Media reported. Mr. Diller plans to eventually replace the stations' current home-shopping fare with entertainment and local programing. But with the escalating prices of UHF broadcast properties, Mr. Diller may have made more of a shrewd financial deal than anything else, station owners say.
