(Aug. 23, 2001) RIO DE JANEIRO -- Pay TV company DirecTV and AOL Time Warner's America Online have created a special promotion for AOL subscribers in Brazil.

All subscribers will be able to acquire DirecTV packages with discounts and get a second subscription for free.

AOL claims to have 750,000 subscribers in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and Puerto Rico, but packages will be valid only for Brazilians.

The promotion will last until Sept. 6.

The DirecTV package has more than 150 channels including HBO, HBO2, Cinemax and Cinemax Prime.
