Morgan Stanley Dean Witter & Co., New York, is beginning a review of its Discover Card account. Incumbent DDB
Needham Worldwide, Chicago, will participate in the closed review. The marketer will make a decision in the first quarter of 1999. Discover received $80 million in ad support last year, according to Competitive Media Reporting. DDB Needham won the account in late 1987, and just kicked off Discover's latest campaign in September. Novus Services, Riverwoods, Ill., Morgan Stanley's credit card unit, saw its share of U.S. charge volume fall for the second consecutive year in 1997. Novus has reorganized in the past year and hired David W. Nelms as president.
