Published on .

MEXICO CITY -- Discovery Networks Latin America/Iberia is opening an office in Mexico City. The office will be headed by Raul Antillon, who has been named affiliate sales representative.

Discovery's Latin American operations are based out of Miami. Mr. Antillon is responsible for the Mexican accounts of the Discovery Channel and Discovery Kids as well as of People Arts and Animal Planet, both part of the re-constituted Travel Channel in Latin America and joint ventures with the BCC.

Mr. Antillon opened the Travel Channel's Mexico office in April 1997 and was the sales rep until that channel was acquired by Discovery Communications in October 1997. He previously was sales and marketing director for Mexican cable operator MegaCable.
