Discovery Networks plans new shows

Published on .

Discovery Networks is developing a new slate of daytime programming to better differentiate sister cable networks The Discovery Channel and The Learning Channel. The new shows, intended to be in place for fall 1996, will include original productions that emphasize "practical" programs on Discovery vs. "personal" programs on TLC. For example, Discovery is developing "Interior Motives," a how-to home improvement series, and "Pet Cetera!," an information-oriented petcare series. TLC is developing "Wedding Story" and "Dream Living," two series that focus on personal lifestyles.
