Disney, ABC get closer

The international operations of Capital Cities/ABC and Walt Disney Television International will be consolidated into one organization to produce and distribute programming and operate broadcast businesses and investments internationally. The new group, Disney/ABC International Television, will be headed by Herbert A. Granath as chairman. He was formerly president, ABC Cable & International Broadcast Group. Etienne de Villiers, who headed international TV activities for Disney, will be president. The company said he will "eventually" succeed Mr. Granath.
