Disney Channel France names marketing director

PARIS -- The Disney Channel in France has named Laurent Malek as its marketing director. He was previously area marketing manager in Lausanne for International Trademarks Inc., a division of Philip Morris International Inc, he was responsible for marketing menswear, luggage and footwear internationally.

The Disney Channel will launch in France in early 1997 on Canal Satellite, the digital bouquet on Astra, a direct-to-home subscription service. Specifically designed for French children and their parents, The Disney Channel will be broadcast in French, offering both originally-produced and acquired French and European programs and Disney entertainment.
