Disney fiscal year higher

Walt Disney Co., Burbank, Calif., today said revenues for the fiscal year ended Sept. 30 increased 12% to $21.2 billion over the year earlier. Operating income increased 7% to $3.7 billion. Net income for the fiscal year increased 16% to $1.5 billion, Disney said. The pro forma figures reflect a full period of operating results for both Disney and ABC, which it acquired in its second quarter.Disney said revenues for its Creative Content category (movies, videos, etc.) increased 17% to $10.5 billion for the fiscal year, while operating income at $1.6 billion approximated prior-year levels. Broadcasting revenues increased 4% to $6.2 billion and operating income increased 12% to $1.1 billion. Theme Parks and Resorts revenues for the fiscal year increased 13% to $4.5 billion and operating income rose 15% to $990 million.
