Disney joint venture may soon name CEO

Walt Disney Co.'s joint programming venture with three regional telephone companies may be close to naming a CEO, Electronic Media reported. Topping the short list for the slot, according to a source, are Mel Harris, Sony Television Entertainment president; and Preston Padden, Fox Broadcasting Co. president, network distribution. Disney's phone company partners in the fiber-optic venture are Ameritech, BellSouth Corp. and SBC Communications.
