Steven Murphy, exec VP of Disney Publishing Worldwide, resigned Feb. 22 and is taking a top job at Rodale Inc., publishing insiders told Advertising Age
. Mr. Murphy's resignation is effective March 3. At Rodale, the family-run publisher of titles such as Prevention
and Men's Health
, Mr. Murphy will succeed Robert Teufel as president-chief operating officer. Other candidates to succeed Mr. Teufel, who said he was taking early retirement, were John Griffin, who resigned as president of Rodale's magazine division last month after it became apparent that he wouldn't get the job, and David Steward, an ex-Martha Stewart Living
and TV Guide
executive. A call to Mr. Murphy's office was not returned. Spokesmen from both Disney and Rodale declined comment.
