DMA study pegs direct marketing

Jonah Gitlitz, president-CEO of the Direct Marketing Association, on Monday presented what he termed a "landmark" study conducted for the DMA by the WEFA Group. It concludes 57.1% of all U.S. ad spending and one in 13 jobs are related to direct marketing. Mr. Gitlitz said overall employment is projected to rise 1.8% in the next 5 years, but jobs available in direct marketing are pegged at a 4.8 % increase.
