Doner the winner in Mazda review

Published on .

Mazda North American Operations, Irvine, Calif., named W.B. Doner & Co. the new agency for its $240 million account. Doner, Southfield, Mich., bested finalists Ogilvy & Mather, Los Angeles, and GSD&M, Austin, Texas. Doner's auto experience includes work with several large regional dealer associations for Ford Motor Co.'s Ford Division. Mazda is one-third-owned by Ford. Doner said it plans to continue working for its Ford dealer group clients. Foote, Cone & Belding, Santa Ana, Calif., resigned the account in July after parent True North Communications acquired Chrysler Corp. agency Bozell.
