Donnelley names Richman

Published on .

R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co. said John M. Richman will be acting chairman-CEO, replacing John R. Walter, who was named president-chief operating officer of AT&T, effective Nov. 1. Mr. Richman, a member of Donnelley's board, is a former vice chairman of Philip Morris Cos. and chairman-CEO of Kraft. Donnelley said it will begin a search for a permanent successor to Mr. Walter.

At AT&T, Mr. Walter takes a post vacant since Alex Mandl left the company last August. Mr. Walter becomes heir-apparent to Chairman Robert E. Allen.
