DoubleClick acquires majority of Flashbase

Published on .

New York-based online ad network and ad-serving company DoubleClick has acquired approximately 60% of the stock of Flashbase, another New York company, which offers an automated solution for the design and management of online sweepstakes. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Flashbase markets sweepstakes as customizable tools to help businesses acquire new customers. DoubleClick executives believe customized sweepstakes are an important addition to a portfolio of online advertising campaigns. Kicking off the new service, DoubleClick is sponsoring a sweepstakes, inviting advertisers to try the service as well as enter the contest for a chance to win a weekend for two in one of DoubleClick's domestic city locations.
