DoubleClick appoints chief privacy officer, privacy advisory board chairman

DoubleClick named Jules Polonetsky, formerly New York's consumer affairs commissioner, as DoubleClick's chief privacy officer. The company also named Bob Abrams, former New York State attorney general, to serve as chair of its Privacy Advisory Board. The position of chief privacy officer was created to act as an ombudsman for Internet users, to work with clients to institute and police their privacy policies, and to educate the public regarding the ad network and ad serving company's commitment to online privacy.
