Online advertising provider DoubleClick, which has come under fire for its privacy policies, is expanding its internal privacy teams in both the United States and Europe. In the U.S., Nuala O'Connor, formerly general counsel for privacy, was named VP-data protection and chief privacy officer, e-mail and emerging technologies. The new post will focus on developing consumer information policies for e-mail and new products, and enhancing internal privacy policies. Also, Elise Berkower to privacy compliance officer, from director of adjudication at the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs, and Tom Kordich to director of privacy technology, from security engineering and business continuity officer, Cablevision. Internationally, Amanda Chandler to chief privacy officer and director of data protection-Europe, from compliance manager for the police and criminal-justice sector of the Data Protection Commissioner in the United Kingdom. Ms. Chandler is responsible for overseeing DoubleClick's privacy strategies across Europe.
