DoubleClick is launching DoubleClick Local to sell geographically targeted ads for local and regional marketers and retailers. DoubleClick plans to specifically sell display ads on the more than 70 Web sites in its network. Using ``geotargeting software,'' DoubleClick Local can pinpoint with about 75% accuracy users coming in from an advertiser's specified geographic region. Ads will cost from $25 to $50 per thousand impressions. DoubleClick plans to begin selling the local and regional ads first in the top 10 markets over the next several months, expanding to other markets after that.
