Online ad network and ad-serving company DoubleClick will sell opt-in e-mail ads in a deal announced with Backwire, an opt-in e-mailer. DoubleClick will exclusively sell targeted, opt-in ads delivered in newsletters published by Backwire. Its newsletters are free and feature personalized content in areas such as Health & Fitness, Travel, Personal Finance, Food & Wine, Entertainment and Internet & Technology. Backwire has 32 newsletters, which it sends to more than 1.5 million subscribers.
