Dow Jones launches its first European corporate ad campaign

LONDON -- Global media concern Dow Jones & Co. is launching its first pan-European corporate ad campaign to raise its profile in Europe. A $500,000 print campaign, devised by Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide, London, is running in the U.K., France and Germany.

"With more than 300 fulltime reporters and editors workingfor Dow Jones in Europe, together with our longstanding associationwith the AP, we have unmatched newsgathering capabilities in the region."

The print campaign will feature an Outline of Europe composed of the words "Dow Jones." Text under the ad will list Dow Jones' activities in Europe, including the recent strategic alliances ithas formed with key European partners. These include The Wall StreetJournal's partnership with German business daily Handelsblatt, the joint venture between Dow Jones Interactive and Reuters BusinessBriefing and the partnership with the Financial Times and independent media to launch a new Russian business daily.

Dow Jones' global activities include its electronic information services such as Dow Jones Newswires; The Wall Street Journal, which has European and Asian editions; and other publications such as Barron'sand the Far Eastern Economic Review. Dow Jones is also co-owner with NBC of the CNBC operation in Asia and Europe.
