Dow Jones & Co. has launched dowjones.com, a free Web site for people seeking business-related resources and information.The site is designed for a broader audience than its subscription-based online publication, The Wall Street Journal Interactive Edition. The site will provide stock quotes, charting and business directories. Dowjones.com is launching with $3 million in sponsorships; charter sponsors include Qwest, Equant and Sun Microsystems. Fidelity Investments is sponsoring the investment portfolio. Inktomi is powering dowjones.com's search capability. Dowjones.com includes 29 industry-specific channels including computer hardware and software, banking, healthcare and automotive. Users can also see related headlines from WSJ.com.
