Dr Pepper acquires Slush Puppie

Dr Pepper/Seven Up on Thursday completed its $16.6 million acquisition of Slush Puppie Co. The 31-year-old company specializes in frozen, non-carbonated beverages sold primarily at convenience stores. Doug Tough, president and CEO of the Cadbury Schweppes unit, said his company was interested in Slush Puppie partly because frozen dispensed beverages posted the second fastest sales growth in convenience stores last year.
