Paris-based Euro RSCG on Monday named Steve Dworin vice chairman. The appointment of the former chairman-CEO of N.W. Ayer & Partners and president of Deutsch/Dworin shows "our commitment to further internationalize Euro RSCG top management," said Jean-Michel Goudard, CEO of Euro RSCG International. Euro RSCG has 110 offices in 34 countries and billings of $6.2 billion.

Though not acknowledged by Euro RSCG, one of the factors behind Mr. Dworin's appointment is almost certainly Procter & Gamble Co.'s ongoing study of a worldwide agency consolidation. Euro RSCG's Chicago agency, Tatham Euro RSCG, handles P&G business in the U.S., and the network may gain international business from P&G if it can demonstrate its ability to perform in the same league as larger competitors. Mr. Dworin built close ties to P&G during his one-year tenure at Ayer, also a P&G agency. Mr. Goudard said Mr. Dworin will split his time between the U.S. and Europe.
